My Journey to Health Coaching

 

As a massage therapist, I have witnessed countless clients struggling with chronic pain, tightness, limited range of motion, weight problems, poor overall health, and chronic illness. Through my work, I have realized that many of these issues stem from deeper lifestyle factors, and studies show that they contribute to diseases like depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and many more.

Drawing from my own transformative journey, I was once on a path towards disability. But through intentional lifestyle changes, I was able to regain my health and strength. This personal triumph ultimately led me to pursue a career in massage therapy, a profession that requires physical stamina and dedication.

Scientific research has consistently shown that simple yet powerful changes in diet, sleep, exercise, and daily habits can significantly reduce pain, alleviate symptoms of illnesses, decrease medication needs, and even prevent or reverse disease.

Motivated by this knowledge and my experience as a massage therapist, I have expanded my expertise into health coaching. With the necessary certifications, I now empower clients to take proactive control of their health. Together, we craft personalized plans and I provide ongoing support to help them overcome health challenges, lose unwanted pounds, and unlock a more vibrant, pain-free life.

With certifications in Health Coaching, Plant-Based Nutrition, and Personal Training, I bring a unique blend of expertise and empathy to my coaching practice. What sets me apart is my personal journey – I have walked in my clients' shoes, having transformed my own health from the ground up. This empathetic understanding allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level, tailoring my guidance to meet their individual needs and goals. Jim's Transformation

After 5 weeks of lifestyle changes, Jim lost 20 pounds and saw improvements in his blood work. His cholesterol dropped from 200 to 153, and his LDL cholesterol decreased from 136 to 105. His non-HDL cholesterol also improved from high normal 152 to 119.

"I feel wonderful and have so much more energy now," Jim says. "I'm sleeping better than I have in years, and my mental clarity and focus have improved."

Jim credits the whole food plant-based lifestyle for his success. "I loved the sweet potato with guacamole and the smoothies - they're now staples in my diet," he says. "I've also learned to pay attention to labels and make healthier choices."

The nutrition aspect of the program made the biggest difference for Jim. "Learning how to eat a healthier diet has been life-changing," he says. "I'm proud of what I've accomplished, and I'm excited to continue exploring new recipes and foods."

Transforming Health Together: Judy and Bob's Journey

Meet Judy and Bob, a dynamic husband-and-wife team who embraced Krissi's health coaching program and transformed their well-being together. Here's what they shared about their journey.

Judy noticed more energy and improvements in her overall health, including better bowel regularity. Combined with her twelve-week cardiac rehab program, she lost several pounds of unwanted weight. Her bloodwork showed significant improvements in cholesterol and lipids. "I've noticed more energy and no constipation. My bloodwork showed improvements in cholesterol, etc..." she says. "What I'm most proud of is actually just sticking to it to get a real result. Don't get overwhelmed with all the information at first—take it a little at a time," Judy adds.

Bob experienced increased energy, less back pain, and better sleep. He lost weight at a steady pace—one pound per week over the program duration—which aligns with healthy weight loss guidelines of 1 to 2 pounds weekly. His blood markers, including A1C levels and cholesterol, also improved. "I have more energy, less back pain, and my blood work improved," Bob shares. "I'm proud of better blood work and feeling better overall. My advice to newcomers? Try not to do it all at once and get frustrated—take it one day at a time."

They plan to continue their healthy habits, with Judy integrating chicken and fish occasionally and Bob maintaining his mindful eating and exercise routine. Grateful for Krissi's accessible help, they wholeheartedly recommend the program for its effective and caring approach.

After working with Krissi on a health coaching program, I adopted a whole-food, plant-based diet and started a daily exercise regimen. In just 30 days, my blood pressure normalized, dropping from 145/90 to 133/83 - a result that truly impressed my cardiologist. I also lost 6 pounds in the first month. Over the course of 2.5 months, I continued to see progress, losing a total of 15 pounds and experiencing a significant drop in my A1c levels from 6.2% to 5.5%. Will I have to go vegan?

Nope! I won't force-feed you kale. I share the benefits of whole foods and plant-based goodness, but ultimately, your diet is your choice. Let's work together to find a sustainable approach that suits you.

 

I can't afford health coaching.

You can't afford not to. Investing in your health through diet and lifestyle changes can seem costly upfront, but it can lead to significant long-term savings. By reducing symptoms of illnesses and potentially healing diseases, you will spend less time and money on doctor's visits, copays, medications, and lost productivity. Consider the money you are already spending on things that might not be essential, like daily coffee shop trips or subscription services. By making healthy lifestyle changes, you can redirect that money towards improving your health and well-being.
